Getting Married at the Ascension

Having a Church Wedding is personal, meaningful and spiritual just as you want it to be. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

The Church of The Ascension is a beautiful, grade II* listed building and is the ideal setting for a Church Wedding. Apart from the fantastic setting of our Church building with it’s colourful stained glass windows, traditional oak pews, lovely long aisle and plentiful seating, the Churchyard grounds make for a pleasant place for guests to mingle before and after the service.

There are many reasons to have your special day at Church of the Ascension. We can provide you with the classic sound of a live Organist and Choir, as well as flowers and decorations. Our multi-purpose Audio Visual system with built in hearing loop can be tailored to your requirements and help make your day that bit more special!

Anyone who lives in the Parish or has a qualifying connection with the Ascension (for example, having been baptised here or a family connection, or attending regularly for six months) has the right to get married in our beautiful Church building. A Christian ceremony is a traditional, sacred and special event which adds to the joy of any wedding day.

Thinking that you can’t afford a Church Wedding? Well think again! Getting married in Church is affordable as we can offer a variety of packages to suit your requirements and budget. A Church Wedding can be more special and affordable  than a Registry Office or Hotel Wedding.
